Moon Over Soho
by Ben Aaronovitch
3 and a half stars
I really am trying with these. I read the first one after seeing the humor compared to pratchett. It didn't really stand out to me so I didn't bother reading anymore. Then a fellow pratchett fan once more recommended these so I tried again with moon over soho. Maybe these booms are just too male gazey for me. There are certainly moments of brilliance but I just don't think this is for me maybe. It's a fun kind of easy read crime novel. So if you Want something easy to read then give it a try I guess and you don't mind women being objectified. (Though I will say this is the charachter not the author and his treatment of women is a knowledge, however that doesn't make it any nicer to read. )
