Inferno's Heir by Tiffany Wang
2.0
Snatched this book because of the comparison to Six of Crows, looking forward to it!
While the comparison is partly true -- a group of ragtag underdog teens pulling off a high-stakes heist -- it was incredibly slow moving and had no real substance to me. More than half of the book felt like exposition and filler, and nothing that made me feel... anything. Even the stakes felt incredibly mellow, and the more dramatic scenes were somewhat underwhelming. The characters were shallow at times, with visible character arcs but no true internal development the reader could see. The plot twists were surprising, but not... riveting, if that makes sense.
Overall, an unfortunately underwhelming book with an enticing premise :(
