Dava Shastri's Last Day by Kirthana Ramisetti
4.0
An enjoyable, relatively lightheaded (despite death being the main subject), easy read. Lots of unlikeable rich people here, which isn't always for me, but it works. Tidy ending but this is definitely a "beach read" type of book. While it appears to tackle serious issues, it glazes over them with some humor, doesn't delve too deep and resolves them without much conflict, giving us some heartwarming family moments. I find the author's decision to set present day in 2044 to be odd, though, but I wonder if that was for the sole purpose to work in Dava's teenage mixtape and have her music choices be very specific to that era. That's the only explanation I can come up with...
