Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents: How to Heal from Distant, Rejecting, or Self-Involved Parents by Lindsay C. Gibson

Did not finish book. Stopped at 45%.
This is basically The 5 Love Languages, but for parenting. The first couple chapters seemed to have some alright advice for coping with a difficult childhood, but as the book went on, the lack of psychological backing for its framework became evident. I don’t know why the author insisted on emotional maturity, when some of the behavior described seems to have more to do with abusive childhoods and/or attachment, both of which are well-studied.
