This was not as good as the first one. The story seemed a bit ... forced. Like it had to place certain elements together to ensure that this book would end the way that it did. This is not to say that I did not like it, but, the first in this series had two characters that I liked from the get-go. This one only had one that I pulled for, and that was because she was basically a Steampunk Starbuck. Ahn was awesome, but I did not care too much for the pirate, so, I was never worried about his outcome.
That being said, I will read the third in the series and see where this goes from here. After that, who knows.
