The story has potential and I'll read the 2nd book before deciding to continue the series or not.
The main character came across like an stereotyped 18yr old to me in their attitude, actions and general behaviour early on instead of the mid twenties person they are. They are currently sheltered and there are hints of trauma from their past which possibly explain why I percieved them younger than they are.

It's really obvious FMC is Fae adjacent as soon as it's mentioned where the magic in the world comes from.
There's also a repeated theme in the second half of the book of 'will she get raped or won't she?' which is a bit ick.
