This was such a powerful story that had me hanging on every written word and constantly freaking out over what was going to happen next. It was able to cover so many extremely difficult topics in all the perfect ways. While magical trials and tribulations serve as the majority of this book's background, it is most certainly a character-driven story. And oh boy are these characters so beyond endearing that I was ranting to my friends endlessly about everything they made me feel.

Daughter of No Worlds begins somewhat ominously with an unknown character being betrayed in the heat of battle & another character being human trafficked...so it's both full of action and heart-wrenching from the very start. But the highlight of this book is the blooming friendship between these two characters. A young woman that has been used for most of her life and never known freedom? And a man that was turned into a monster by the person he loved most? Neither one of them have anyone to trust and so, they start to trust each other. The dynamic between them was genuinely so freaking beautiful to watch develop that I can't even begin to express to you how good it is!!! It does eventually delve into a romance but it's the perfect slow-burn full of yearning. And even the side characters? Absolutely amazing.

Tisaanah is probably the strongest main character I have had the honor to read about in years. She has gone through so many absolutely horrific hardships in her lifetime. And somehow, despite the entire world stacked against her, she keeps going and she keeps fighting to make things better. And as if that isn't amazing enough, Tisaanah continues to be so kind and has such a positive outlook on the future. It honestly makes me choke up because I know that I would never be able to be as strong as she is. She's everything. And don't even get me started on Max because I have loved him since the first page. A hermit that tries to pretend like he's a bad person? Oh please we see right through you and your massive garden that you tend to every day.

Then we have the somewhat typical fantasy system where magic Wielders are able to use their powers in battle, but it's still so interesting to read and constantly learn about! I love the way their magic is used throughout the series in fights and even simple training moments. Plus there is SOOO much more to learn from the ending.

Shoutout to Abby for recommending me this book, because I am now forever in their debt (and so is my wallet because the second book has already been purchased). Needless to say, I highly highly recommend this! But forewarning that this constantly deals with very heavy topics so you might need to look up trigger warnings.
