This is still somehow the only book of Murakami’s I've read, and I enjoyed rereading it. The prose is gorgeous and it’s a compelling, mysterious love story about nostalgia and aging and the time capsule of youth, and also the specific ways men lie without second thought despite knowing that’s bad. There’s a lot to say about women characters in the book in terms of the way they’re written lacking nuance and dimension, but I’ll leave you to your own analysis. I enjoy stories about people who are down horrendous in love so I was entertained. It’s a short read and worth checking out.
