Did not finish book. Stopped at 43%.
I don't know if it was me going into this with very different expectations or if I wasn't in the right mood but this didn't end up being for me. This has been on my TBR since I first heard about it in 2019 and I even got my aunt who was visiting from the US to buy me a copy because they didn't have them in bookstores here and I was too impatient to wait for Book Depository (RIP) to deliver. I'd seen a lot of love for this from reviewers I trust and I was so sure that this would be a hit for me but sadly, it wasn't. From very early on I found myself skimming passages because I was overwhelmed by the amount of information that bored me in addition to characters who I found similarly boring or irritating. Overall, I'm not sure whether this will be one that I return to in the future (although it has gone back on my shelf!) but for right now in 2024, this wasn't for me.
