At the start of the book I found it to be quite slow. But once I hit the midway part, partially through the second day of the story it clicked for me.
The prose was incredible. This is my first Hemingway novel. I was impressed by the imagery that he conjured and his handling of monologues and dialogues. The directness of the prose was quite effective and I will be reading more of his collection. I’m glad I started with this one—It is quite the book.
