The Strain
by Guillermo del Toro, Chuck Hogan
Solidly in the "horror" column of the vampire genre, The Strain goes back to the root of vampire mythology as a scourge to be wiped from the face of the earth, but which may win the war against humanity in a fiendishly viral explosion. It is a book that could just as easily be described as a biological apocalypse that would leave the CDC chilled to the bone.
In an age when the world is truly a global community with no refuge, the horror of The Strain is palpable.
