I loved this book. It's dark and challenging at times, but entertaining and funny too. For people who suffered abusive childhoods at the hands of a parent, there's a lot to relate to (which might be too confronting depending on your current headspace). I haven't found many books that manage to articulate quite what that experience is like and how it stays with you into adulthood – this book manages it both beautifully and painfully.
Graphic: Child abuse, Child death, and Domestic abuse
Moderate: Abandonment and Rape
