Really fun murder mystery with protagonists I would've loved at that age. The names are immediately fun, and probably teach some good new words to kids, and the whole nature v nurture thing is a cool angle. It wasn't the main focus of the plot as it wasn't about the main character but I think that worked well with the trans characters especially - I liked Erf picking out their own word, carrying on the tradition but in a way that represented them.
I did suspect the murderer,
but may have had an advantage over the target audience - I don't know when children learn the word 'candour' but if someone's called honesty they're almost definitely going to be a liar
