Kolyma Tales by Varlam Shalamov

dark informative reflective sad medium-paced

5.0

This is a testimonial of Stalin’s death camps in form of non-fiction, autobiographical short stories. It is written in first person but with a language so distant and neutral as if written by a non-affected third person. In that purely descriptive, informational way it lets the reader connect the dots for themselves.
