I went into this book expecting a crazy thriller set in the jungle. Let me warn you now, that’s not really accurate. The thriller elements are the last 20%, the rest is just an adventure story.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad adventure. Lily Bushwold is young, in love and ready to take on the jungle to prove it. Into the Jungle gives you nightmarishly large spiders, electric eels, shamans and the indigenous tribes trying to hold onto their way of life.
If you’re looking for a jungle adventure, this is 100% for you. The descriptions of the jungle are gorgeous and vivid. I was just waiting for the thriller the whole time, so it was a bit of a disappointment.
