Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood

Let’s hope this review doesn’t cancel me.

I’ve got a very unpopular opinion. I don’t find it sexy when a man has to ask over and over again if it’s ok to kiss/hug/fuck/lick etc. I get maybe once, I understand wanting to make sure the audience knows it’s consensual, but good god I would be so annoyed if so man asked me 3 times on a row if it’s ok to do something. Take charge man.

Ok other than that annoying little habit This book was the exact same as her first book. I enjoyed the first book, but if I wanted to read that book again I would have reread it. I didn’t see any differences between the main characters. Does this author not know how to write something else?

Also I enjoyed the first book because it did highlight some issues with women in stem, issues with typical guy douchbagerie and whatnot, but it became a bit over the top. The author took her personal views and put them in the book so much that it became preachy. I don’t care what side of the aisle your on, I came here for the romance and to get away from all the shitty politics only to be preached at on said politics.

I’m really annoyed because I loved the Love hypothesis, but this one while it had the same feel it was all the bad issues of that book amplified. This may just be my last book by this author.
