Where They Last Saw Her by Marcie R. Rendon
4.0
Intense!!! This book is about the huge crisis of indigenous women & girls being sex trafficked. This story is powerful! Captivating! I want everyone I know to read it!
I am from Minnesota and always love books set Up North (Minnesota speak for the northern part of the state ). Marcie Rendon is a Minnesota author who represents it well. Her use of both languages - English & Ojibwe - is excellent! She creates/related the tension so well!!
My only beef is with the character type of Quill, the mc. Quill is a hero, in the type that yes, there are problems but she creatively overcomes them to save the day. It all seems rather easy. In a realistic fiction book, that doesn't seem too realistic.
