A Love Song for Ricki Wilde by Tia Williams
3.0
funny mysterious slow-paced

✨so many parts of this book spoke to me. the magic of every day, the black history, the circumstances of the romance, a messy female main character trying to get her ish together, a wise grandmother figure. and the fact that I LOVED seven days in june! but ultimately, this just fell flat for me. the characters separately were all so great, including the side characters, but I just felt like the plot was doing so much and just when I felt like we got to sit with one plot point it was BAM next plot point. and then remember that the FMC has sisters and a crazy family system yet they only appear for the setup and a random conflict in the end? what about the rest of the perennial crew! Tuesday’s whole storyline. the flower shop. it was just a lot and I couldn’t fully grasp any of it, leaving me feeling very detached.
