A Girl Is a Half-formed Thing by Eimear McBride

Did not finish book. Stopped at 47%.
I DNF’d this book after months of trying. I really wanted to like the abstract writing style but I found it hard to read and follow. The short choppy sentences and half formed paragraphs made reading feel like a chore. The book itself held some interesting parts particularly
the abuse from the writers uncle and the bullying both she and her brother experienced
But overall it was an insurmountable task to decipher the true meanings and relevant parts of the story from the girls (at times seemingly random) internal dialogue. I may attempt to pick this book up again in the future but for now the writing style and stunted nature of the book has made it an impossible read.
