The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory

this was much stronger than the wedding date, imo. i have no active quibbles about this book, but nothing about it felt outstandingly powerful or like it would stay with me for especially long. i really enjoyed the character of carlos in particular, the architecture of his compulsive care, the gender dynamics of his familial relationships. it’s interesting! i also adored nik. the story had a surprisingly nuanced feminist element that bit beyond the usual “girl power!” platitude politics that romance novels can slide into. generally, would recommend. sweet, smart, and compelling. put love in my heart
