Ninja Girl by Cookie O'Gorman

this book was a cup brimming with fluff, just like those marshmallow fluff shots. i loved all the characters, every single one of em. snow was such a brave, independent girl who could fight like no one else and it was amazing. i utterly adored the pep talks between her and bruce (yall cant tell me u dont talk to inanimate objects as well). ash was just the right amount of playfully cocky and it worked for him. i really enjoyed how the guy was the one who was chasing the girl this time. it was quite refreshing. i also loved the pov switching because i was able to see the thoughts of both snow and ash. this was one of those books where the side characters almost outshined the main ones. min hee and bae bae were the greatest second lead couple and they were wonderful supports to snow. i loved the brother/sister relationship between bae and snow as well as the over protective older brother aura that bae possessed when around ash. the parent/child relationships were also quite wonderful. the care ash's mother and father felt for him was so palpable, i could really feel it. the book also features many korean characters and i loved the addition of the korean words and references. i enjoyed them even more because i understood most of them since i like k pop as well. oh and i almost forgot. BECKS AND SAL I LOVED IT I LOVED THEM YES I GOT TO SEE THEM AGAIN. sigh, becks and ash's love/hate relationship rivals the best bromances out there and sal's close friendship with ash is so adorable. this book was also a bit of a mystery and contained multiple action scenes. compared to other books, i felt that the action scenes werent as intense as i'd like them but tbh, this is a book mostly about romance. this could also be said about the mystery portion of the book because the mystery wasnt all that mysterious. this meaning that i had already had my suspicions on the culprit by like chapter 6. for about the first three quarters of the book, my rating was a 5 and not dropping however, by like 75% it had gradually stopped. at 75%, the author had begun the action scenes and trying to intensify the atmosphere. it just didnt do it for me because the first parts of the book were literally just fluff balls. utter adorableness. but suddenly, the author begins to try throwing basketballs, soccer balls, and metal balls at us. i just couldnt take it very seriously by that point. anyway, the romance was good, the characters were fantastic, and the cultural diversity was fascinating. i just hope that next time the author could go full on fluff, full on intensity, or be able to balance them better than this book
