This 2022 Reese’s Book Club Pick has been in my Audible library since its release. This was a fun ride! There’s more to it than meets the eye. The audiobook performance was fantastic, I highly recommend this format.

Ava did everything in her life according to plan. But her marriage is falling apart, she’s not working and her child’s meltdowns indicate something serious. Her old roommate Winnie reaches out and has the high quality, luxurious life Ava always envisioned for herself. Winnie lets Ava in on the secret: she’s in charge of a lucrative international counterfeit scheme surrounding designer handbags. And she thinks Ava would be a perfect person to help in this operation. But not everything goes according to plan….

Gosh I love a con woman story!!!!!! This one was fun on its surface but had a lot of depth to it. The complexities of class and race perception were very interesting. I also really enjoyed the domestic troubles in Ava’s life and didn’t find that storyline to be anything other than compelling. What a great audiobook!
