Olivia Saves the Circus by Ian Falconer

4.0

Olivia is asked to present what she did during her vacation and she tells everyone how she did all the things at the circus because the performers weren't available. Olivia is definitely not for everyone. She is precocious and spins tales which we as readers see with visual brilliance. However, she can also come across as a liar. I personally enjoy her books as they illustrate the power of imagination. This story is one of the better ones that I've read from her series as well.

For: Olivia fans; readers wanting circus books/back to school books.

Possible red flags: lying/telling stories and not admitting to falsehoods.
