Monday's Not Coming by Tiffany D. Jackson

5.0

This book reminds me of those 90s-00s books about inner city kids that everybody used to read, and would win various awards like Precious. Those books seemed to have disappeared from traditional publishing I feel. So it’s wonderful to see Jackson revitalizing this genre a little. It really reminds me of a time in my life where I craved books about myself, books that showed all sides of black life. Jackson does that here in a way that seems effortless. I can’t wait to read more of her works.
