I really enjoyed this troubled marriage tale told from the wife's perspective and using a fun plot device: a magic phone she uses to communicate with her husband at a pivotal point in their relationship 15 years before. I usually avoid troubled marriage books because they sound like such a drag. But the phone trick sucked me in. As did the flawless writing. There is a lot of '70s sit com humor and interesting workplace situations, including an obnoxious and entertaining best friend/co-worker. I liked the contrast between the L.A. lifestyle and Omaha, Nebraska. Also, Rowell really nails what being "in love" with someone means.
