Romy Silvers is 16 years old and the only surviving crew-member of a spaceship with the mission to travel and colonize a distant planet. Romy was born in the spaceship and has known no life other than that. Yet, Romy is still very much like most teenagers on earth. She is obsessed with a tv show, she loves writing fanfiction about its characters, and most of all, she dreams about love.
Romy has been alone for the last 5 years, and in that time she had to deal with being alone, with her fears, anxieties and insecurities. When Romy learns that another spaceship is on its way to join hers, she gets incredibly excited. Not long after, Romy, and J, the only crew-member of the other ship, establish communication, and with time, their communications get more personal, and Romy ends up falling in love with him. However, when she least expects her day-to-day life is disrupted and Romy realizes that maybe things are not what they seem, and that sometimes, there are worse things than being alone . . .

Simply put, I LOVED this book!!!
At first, we learn how life is like for Romy in space. She has been alone since she was 11 years old, and the only human interaction she has is through messages. I felt like there was an eerie feeling that settles in very early in the story, and that grows as the story moves forward. This eerie feeling, has also a great influence on Romy as it forces her to deal with her darker fears and anxieties, and really makes her to change and grow as a character.
As the story moves further along, the mysteries begin to pile up. The plot really does subvert the reader’s expectations, as it’s full of twists and turns, and leaves the reader at the edge of their seat.
