Womanist Midrash: A Reintroduction to the Women of the Torah and the Throne by Wilda C. Gafney

4.0

Pretty intense read. Lots of scholarly research and context. Highly recommend if you want to reflect on gender roles and build a deeper appreciation of stories about biblical women and girls. I learned a lot, especially about words and translations that carry context I wasn’t fully familiar with (e.g. booty, Lord). Inspires me to be more specific with gender specific/inclusive language, especially when thinking about God.
