The Ten Thousand Doors of January
by Alix E. Harrow
This story is gorgeous and engaging and makes you (as the reader) want to climb into the world and help January as she comes of age and finds herself. Even when you have to yell at her in your head (or out loud, no judgment from me) for being SO NAIVE, you root for her to grow.
I continue to love Harrow's writing style and ability to create a world just a LITTLE more magical than ours.
Great read for anyone who loves books and how they can help you escape, and who has ever wondered about the worlds that might be just beyond ours.
