Crude Chronicles: Indigenous Politics, Multinational Oil, and Neoliberalism in Ecuador by Suzana Sawyer

4.0

Sawyer is incredibly passionate about the indigenous people exploited in the politics and production of crude oil. She offers many examples of indigenous resistance to corporate reign and tells a colorful tale of triumph and loss mixed with examples of neoliberal toxicity. This ethnography broke my heart and further instilled the values of an anti-corporate and anti-globalization activist within me.
