Knot My Type by Evie Mitchell
5.0
Drama and Feels and Cuteness!
This book was sorta all over the place but such a good ride. The hook is Frankie and Jay meeting because she's researching rope play for her accessibility focused podcast. He just happens to be friend of a friend that teaches at the local kink club in this small coastal town that used to be a free love commune. Like ... you smile and nod because the details don't matter, they just got to get us there.
The explicit scenes are exceptionally hot. Seriously, the mouth on these two will make you blush. I was a bit sad that there wasn't more rope play scenes on page, but the ones we got were scorching and emotional. The intensity of the scenes and the trust Frankie and Jay show in their partner helps me believe the insta love.
By 50% the story shifted away from the sexual relationship to focus on emotional srorylines. And when it did swerve it went right into telenovela drama. There is a third-act breakup, but persevere and be rewarded with a Grand Gesture™️.
Also, fuck yes the disability rep for wheelchair users. We read Frankie's joy, frustration, anger, humor, stubbornness - the truth of being disabled where the general public doesn't see you or think you belong at the table. But the key takeaway here is how characters like Frankie are main characters. Thats it. Main character look like, live like, love like Frankie.
