The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks
5.0

I don't usually rate Nicholas Sparks books at five, because they are always romancy, lovey-dovey easy reads that make me go through an entire box of tissues. That being said, "The Guardian" was definately a five star read because is was very unique.

When I began reading, I thought "aww, this is going to be such a lovely book." Julie is a young widow whose husband died of a brain tumour, and he left her with a Great Dane puppy names Singer on her first Christmas without him...

...flash forward four years later, and Julie is ready for love again, Singer by her side to be her overprotective guardian figure. She meets Richard, an attractive, well put together man. However, she also has an interest in her late husband's best friend, Mike. This creates effective romantic tension for Julie, but it is HERE that Mr. Sparks strays from his typical and predictable romance novel...

...the whole thing turns into a crazy, wild thriller. There were parts of this book that had my heart palpatating like crazy. I was actually so scared on night to go to sleep after I had read a few chapters!!!

I GREATLY enjoyed this book!!! READ IT!!!
