Don't Tell Me the Truth About Love by Dan Rhodes
3.0
I enjoyed the stories in this collection for their whimsy and clever way of turning love stories tropes on their heads. The over-arching theme of the stories seemed to be solely the beauty of women and how it entrances and entraps male suitors. Something about this theme started to annoy me by the end of the collection; perhaps because I wanted the women featured in the stories to be more than just physically beautiful. While I think the point the author was trying to male was that falling in love for physical beauty alone will ultimately damage those involved, I would have preferred more fleshed and developed female characters.
