Yellowface by R.F. Kuang
4.0
I loved this book. And I was thoroughly amused by the way R.F Kuang was able to capture the audacity of white supremacy and privilege within the book world.
I found myself wanting to stop reading and just scream because I truly couldn’t believe what I was reading. I think what impressed and frightened me the most was how smoothly the main character was able to convince herself that she was the victim through and through. I also really loved how insufferable the main character was, it made the story a lot more real.
I wasn’t too happy with the ending because it felt a bit anti climatic but it made sense for the circumstances of the novel because justice is never really served/found in a world where white supremacy holds so much power.
Other than that an enjoyable and crazy read! I was obsessed!!!
