An Anonymous Girl
by Greer Hendricks, Sarah Pekkanen
This is my first ever 1 star read and I almost feel really bad giving someone’s work this low of a rating (I’m really sorry).
But for me this book was the equivalent of pulling teeth, the whole process was so long and drawn out, this book could have shaved off 100 pages and I would have been way more generous with my rating. The thing is, this book didn’t need to be as long as it was, the plot line is literally dragged out and it’s just simply not engaging enough for a near 400 page count. It’s all just very meh.
Had I not just read Verity (one of my new favourites and a book I believe did the ‘obsessed partner’ trope better) then my opinion may have also been influenced. But I had just read Verity and it was done better there, here I just didn’t believe any of the characters motivations. And that’s because the characters were so boring!
I don’t know why I didn’t DNF this, I guess I just kept hoping that someone amazing would happen... spoiler it didn’t!
