Heavenly Tyrant
by Xiran Jay Zhao
I loved this book. However, it was EXTREMELY different from the first book.
Iron Widow was full of rash decisions — that were often met with dire consequences — as well as no time for remorse. It also was action-packed with numerous battles and fight scenes.
Heavenly Tyrant was not like that whatsoever. It was ample with political disagreements and secret agendas.
While I enjoyed this being part of the story as it was imperative to the plot, I felt that a considerable portion of the book was lagging pace-wise. The beginning and the end were extremely chaotic, but the middle had a lull.
I still enjoyed this book and am curious as to how Xiran Jay Zhao will finish the story in the final book.
