Rafe: A Buff Male Nanny
by Rebekah Weatherspoon
This was so soft and absolutely wonderful to read!!!
Sloan is one of the youngest and most accomplished heart surgeons to ever operate, divorced, and mother of six-year-old twin girls. When their nanny quits without warning just a few weeks before school starts she needs a new nanny, and fast.
Rafe has been working in childcare for half his life, and while he might not look like it, he comes highly recommended. Newly unemployed, he fits perfectly into the empty spot Sloan has to fill - more perfectly than either of them realizes at first.
The romance between the two is so fluffy and a delight to read. There is not much drama in the book, they communicate openly and honestly with each other which was wonderful.
Rafe also has a wonderful loving family, and Addison and Avery, Sloan's daughters, were fun and loveable as well. Sloan's friends were equally great.
I laughed a lot, the jokes were funny and there were lots of contemporary references.
Sloan being a prodigy and successfull surgeon while also being a black woman and single mother was wondeful. She does not face issues because of any of this in the book, her struggles are mentioned vaguely.
