It's easy to read, perfect to unwind to at the end of the day (I found myself looking up some words throughout the book, but it didn't interfere with the flow of reading). Sloan uses a lot of dry humor, and there's a mysterious aspect to how the events unfold--why is the sourdough starter the way it is? It kept me interested the whole way through.
