Liked this one much better than the first in the series Rainshadow Road.
The characters were more developed and intense, their affection for each other so much more real and endearing.
I loved Alex, the tortured hero is always my weakness and he was a great character. He had such heart and vulnerability.
Zoe was his perfect match, patient and kind, accepting and encouraging. They were perfect together and my heart had little pangs at quite a few moments between these two.
Loved this one.
The only thing that didn't make this a 5 star read for me was the ending. It seemed to dramatic and then all of a sudden it was done. Everything tied up in a neat bow. It's a romance afterall so that wasn't a shock, but given the storyline I didn't think it should have been tied off so cleanly and mushy.
I liked the side story of the ghost. It was done in a way that didn't make it seem overly supernatural or cheezy which was a good fit for the story. I figured from the beginning who the ghost was and who he had a connection to, and it wasn't intended as much of a mystery. I like the side story of the ghost and his rediscovery of his lost love. Touching and heartwarming.
Overall a very sweet read.
