So I read this book during the transreadathon to support not only trans stories, but POC trans stories as they are the ones that get ignored and hurt the most.

I had this on my kindle for a few years and I thought it was the best time to read it! I felt that this book definitely did not shy away from the realities that trans POCs face. The difficulties of families adjusting to their child's transition and how a trans person would try and wade those waters instead of confronting the issue. I liked the conversation and the life we saw Felix live but I genuinely did not like Felix. He complained about everything and was too much. And don't get me wrong, I understand that he's a teenager and dealing with really tough stuff-his mom abandoning him, his dad's constant deadnaming, worrying about college and things like that-but I felt like because of his issues he was constantly taking out his frustration and anger on everyone else. Creating an Instagram account to catfish someone he thought outed him with zero proof! Yeah no I could not get behind that one! Then messing with his friend's feelings. That is a no go for me. But I did learn a lot and I liked the friends to lovers trope as it is-in my humble opinion-the best trope. Overall the book for me is a 3/5 and 35/110 for my reading goal!
