Such an interesting, fresh, heart warming story about a young black woman’s experience with privileged white employers, the world, friends who are “achieving more”, and general lack of direction in life. The tone and language of the book was so relatable, so enthralling. I found myself rooting for Emira to stay with Briar but also spread her wings…

I think the ending was perfect. A great reminder that two things can be true at the same time, and sometimes people are exactly who they show themselves to be
