The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
5.0
This is such an enjoyable book.
I loved learning about Henrietta Lacks and her family. There were some really tragic things that happened to people of color “in the name of science”. I think this story is definitely one that needs to be told, especially to those in the scientific community, but anyone would find this story truly compelling.
Although this is a non-fiction book, it’s written in a way that does not read as traditional non-fiction; it’s so captivating. Rebecca Skloot has really put her heart and soul into this story and it shows.
I listened to the audiobook and I especially enjoyed the interview with the author at the end. I highly recommend it!
