I adore this series and when I saw the third volume was the final installment, I felt unsure about how they would tie everything together in that time. I feel this series needed one more volume to wrap everything up, because things felt really rush, addressing one plot point after another. I wish the series could have been a good bit longer, because I think there are several different stories and relationships that would have been great to explore. But ultimately, I love the message, and how it portrays the different ways that people can choose to live, and the different types of families they can build. Every volume managed to bring me to tears (
“just how many people have had their innocent feelings, their freedom to choose, their ways of living, their stories, their very lives, stolen and trampled on?”
), and this series was a phenomenal source of LGBTQ+ representation. I’ll definitely be returning to it again, and recommending it to others :)
