Becoming Abolitionists: Police, Protests, and the Pursuit of Freedom by Derecka Purnell

4.0

Eye-opening and dismal but hopeful at the same time. I came away from this book with my mind more open than ever, and a heart full of ideas for building better communities. I picked it up because I, like many, did not understand the possibilities that the abolition of police and the prison system could offer. How is it practical? Purnell addresses these concerns with thoughtful, open explanations and questions for the reader to reflect on.

What could a better world look like?
