The Mothers by Brit Bennett

3.0

this book made me sad. its beautiful. bennett definitely tells a story well. but i cant help but feel nadia was written in a certain sort of light for having an abortion. is it in the writing itself or in my own interpretation that has be feeling sad for her? that her life did not end up as full or happy due to this decision? i was even rooting for her and luke to find their way back together, hoping she would get pregnant again and choose to keep the child. that the friend would leave luke for the military man so nadia and luke could be together again. this ended in a more realistic way, but i did not like it
