Ahsoka by E.K. Johnston

Rating: 2 stars

I knew this book existed long before now, but I only started to read it at this time because of the Ahsoka TV show on Disney+. That show, however, has an adult target audience, whereas this book, for better or for worse (and in my case, worse) is aimed at a young adult audience.

The first time I realised that Ahsoka was a YA book was when I started the audiobook and the narrator was reading it like other young adult books. It didn't click with me that of course she would. She's doing her job perfectly - this is a YA book! So the person who is wrong in this scenario, the person who is responsible for all this kerfuffle, is me! I didn't do my research beforehand! This is not the book's fault in any way, obviously. It knew what it wanted to be and executed that flawlessly. This book is perfect for its target audience; they can't help if I'm not part of that target audience!

So why did I finish it? Why didn't I ditch it halfway through? Better than that, why didn't I ditch it at 25% of the way through, when I finally confirmed that it was indeed YA? I don't know. Don't ask me to explain myself. It's not my fault my brain chooses chaos on a regular basis.
