What can I say about this book that I haven't already about the rest of the series. It is the literary equivalent of being snuggled up in a warm blanket. It has reinvented the term 'cosy mystery'. It's phenomenally written, I don't think I've ever read anything with such heart. One moment it will have you laughing out loud and the next you'll be in floods of tears, but done in such an organic felling way.
Everybody has their favourite characters throughout literature and I can genuinely say in this series alone there are maybe seven of mine. The most obvious of these, our core four of Joyce, Elizabeth, Ibrahim and Ron but I want to shout-out one who would be classed as a 'secondary' character and doesn't play a major role in any of the books but whom I find myself thinking about all the time and absolutely adore is Bogdan. A hulking, tattooed, sketchy, tough guy who at the same time is well mannered, caring and.all round a lovely man who is loyal to a fault.
This is the last 'Thursday Murder Club' book for the time being and as sad as that makes me, I am looking forward to reading Richard Osman's upcoming new series and to inevitably return to Cooper's Chase and revisit old friends.
