I love the parallels to Austen's books, some loose and some very similar. I like that this is its own story instead of a modernization or retelling, and I love that it draws from at least 3 of Austen's works for inspiration. If you love Jane Austen, dogs, cats, crazy swans, friendly ghosts, home renovation, wedding planning, or books about friends and found family, this is the book for you. It's also a great book about being true to yourself.
The ending wrapped up a bit too quickly for me, and I would have liked more romance leading up to that point throughout the rest of the book. Just a little scene here and there would have helped the romance become more believable/satisfying. I also would have liked Libby to realize she still wasn't living her own dreams. In turning Pemberley into a wedding venue she was helping Emmaline and Kiki, honoring her grandmother's wishes to keep the home, and fighting back against her mom and William--but what Libby herself liked was the painting and decorating. She hardly ever created her own art, and didn't even let herself pick out flowers. I'm glad she started letting people help her, but running a wedding venue still doesn't seem like Libby's dream.
