Earth to Alis by Lex Carlow

5.0

“I think you’re really hurting, and you’re not telling anyone,” he says. “And I’m pretty sure that would drive anyone insane.”

I have so much to say about this book, but I don't wanna write a novel, but I also can't put into words or even begin to describe how much this book means to me, how much I resonated with Alis and a lot of the character's, envied his friendships and relationships and how much this book was just beyond amazing.

Where do I even begin? The representation, and the VERY important topics that were discussed were treated with such care and love. Alis will forever be a character that will stick with me. From his fashion, the way he expresses himself, his struggles etc, it was like looking through a mirror as sad as that is, I was getting emotional reading this, but I don't regret it one bit. I loved they dynamic between him and his friends, and between him and Craig SO MUCH. Everyone needs a Craig in their life for real. I laughed, I cried, I got frustrated I couldnt put this book down. While I felt many things, I have to give props to the author for creating a much needed story and treating the topics of Suicide, self harm, family struggles, bullying and finding yourself/friendships with such care and grace.

I didn't want this book to end, but simultaneously think it was the perfect length. Overall an amazing read that I really just want to immediately reread right now truly. I definitely found a new comfort book for me.
