The Zombie Parade by Max Brallier
3.0
"So this... this man-monster, he not only freed my friends - he took the hit that saved their lives. And in a way, saved me - because without my friends, I might as well not exist."
In this sequel to [b:The Last Kids on Earth|24611765|The Last Kids on Earth (Last Kids on Earth, #1)|Max Brallier|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1429724584l/24611765._SY75_.jpg|44222895], we find Jack, Quint, Dirk, and June running from a Wormungulous at the abandoned mall. Suddenly, they are saved by a mystery man-monster who leads them to a restaurant full of monsters at Joe's Pizza. Where did all the monsters come from? Where are all the zombies going so they disappear entirely? Will Jack be able to get over his fear of losing his friends?
This was a fun sequel to the first installment in this series. There is still some major [b:Diary of a Wimpy Kid|389627|Diary of a Wimpy Kid (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, #1)|Jeff Kinney|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1388183826l/389627._SX50_.jpg|2617009] vibes, but I think that is why this series is doing so well. Well, that and the Netflix series. I've been reading this series with one of my tutoring students. He loves the series and is always so super excited to talk about this series with me. Me, not so much, but I definitely enjoy his enthusiasm. Will I pick up the rest of this series on my own? Probably not, but I also wouldn't be completely disappointed to read the next installment in this series with a student.
This series is bound to be a hit with upper elementary and middle grade students, especially those readers who are fans of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
