I have so many thoughts on this book, but I cannot formulate a single one. Each perspective was so devastating; the exploration of grief, cycles of abuse, and how trauma is passed down through generations was also so well-done. I became frustrated by the characters while my heart broke for them.
The larger plot with the seasons and the obelisks was also very interesting, but it was so much information that it was hard to follow at times. So much happened in the action packed moments, it was hard to understand what was happening and why it was so intense until later. It did suffer second book syndrome in that way where the larger plot felt like it was setting up for the final book. But this didn't impact my reading experience too much, I still really enjoyed this book!
I thought the different POVs as well as the different interpretations of orogeny (and what happened to the deadcivs) were so interesting. It made me think about who controls what (and how) information is shared and how that impacts our lived experiences. Can't wait to read the last one!
